The evolution of golf equipment continues at a rapid rate, new technologies and club design make for an impressive range of clubs to choose from. Drivers are the most technically advanced club in the golf bag, and the next big thing to hit the course is the TaylorMade SLDR Driver.
Professionals on the PGA Tour and European PGA were given their first swing of the Prototype SLDR during the John Deere and Scottish Open tournaments earlier this month.
The most evident piece of wow about the SLDR driver is the sliding weight on the sole of the club. The weight has 21 positions from draw to fade providing instant change to the club dynamics, add the 12 position loft sleeve and you have a huge number of variations. The centre of gravity is low and forward, TaylorMade said this helps the SLDR produce a high launch and low spin creating more distance.
Keep an eye out for this one in the pro-shop over the next few months, will be worth a test drive!
