Survived Round the Bay!

With excitement and trepidation, I met Ben, Liss, Campbell and Matt for the Round the Bay Ride. Having riden the 100k ride for the last 2 years, this was the next big step, though wasnt sure how far I could ride! Weather was clear but chilly, luckily I had the vest, arm and leg warmers! [...]

Sam on the range

Sam and I headed to the driving range last weekend. Loaded a video from my phone onto youtube.com (how very Web 2.0 of me!) and here is Sam in action. OK, so the orientation is askew but lean to the right and you’ll be fine. I will fix this soon!

When a thin bike tyre meets a wet strip of polished metal at speed the results are not good. Cruising home on new bike, post-rain, right hand turn across tram tracks in Smith Street. All going well until my rear wheel decided to continue up Smith Street at pace. Luckily for new bike my arm [...]

Unfortunately in reality, the Socceroos didnt win as predicted losing in the cruelest of circumstances to a dive that Greg Lougainess would be proud of. But in the world of the PS2, the Australian’s did win through to the quarter finals to meet the Ukraine. Here is the result of the crucial quarter final clash. [...]

The actual second round game against Italy in the 2006 World Cup is still over 24 hours away, yet after a tough encounter between these two teams on the PS2 Fifa World Cup game, Australia has progressed to the quarter finals. With the teams playing at a frantic pace, both had opportunities in the first [...]

Australia 2 – Croatia 2

Very depressed after Croatia scored in the first 2 minutes, elated when Australia equalised with a penalty, back to depression with a shocking Jonathon Hay like fumble by backup keeper Kalac (why was he on the field!), excitement [...]

Socceroos 3 – Japan 1

For almost an hour, the Aussies World Cup campaign looked to be all but over after a shocking ‘Goldspinkesque’ refereeing error gave Japan the lead. Time ticked on towards the final whistle, brows were furrowed. Aussie Guus (‘Hoos’) then swung the changes bringing on Cahill, Kennedy and Aloisi. 83rd minute, it happened, goal to Cahill. [...]

Hawks win again

Whilst this blog is primarily about golf, it would be remiss of me not to mention Hawthorns fourth win of the season (from five games) at the expense of arch rivals Essendon. Becca, Sam and I watched the Hawks win by the narrowest of margins at a rain soaked MCG. Not getting ahead of ourselves, [...]
