Australian Open Golf – Round 1
December 3rd, 2009 by Doogs
The 2009 Australian Open is off to a great start. Played at the spectacular and very British Open looking New South Wales Golf Club, the leaderboard after Day One features Appleby and Hend on top, with Nitties and Scott amongst others close behind. Hend was off early getting the better weather conditions carding a 66. Appleby played a cracker of a round facing much tougher conditions as the afternoon wind picked up, also carding a 66 which included sinking two shots from around the green.
Badds and Ogilvy had less than impressive rounds, sitting on one over after the first round. But still plenty of golf to be played. And with the course situated right on the coast, weather will play a big factor.
