Canberra golf recap

Following on from the two rounds of 40 stableford points in Canberra, am still trying to identify what actually happened.  Lead up form had been poor, with the most recent outing, an average 29 points at Growling Frog.  So here are a few factors that could be indicators of that hidden golf form: - Previous nights to each round had involved significant amounts of alcohol.  Could drink be the key to my game? - Or perhaps the high chocolate intake that occurs over Easter, my swing may need chocolate to succeed. - Always seem to improve when playing golf against Bondy! - Canberra has been a happy hunting ground, but its also the venue for black Sunday at Royal Canberra when i let a 10 stroke lead slide in the King Challenge!

As for the swing itself: - The driver wasnt at its best, but key swing thoughts were a slow backswing keeping the clubhead low. - Irons were superb, focussed on setup (relaxed, ball centred in stance, clubface square) takeway (slow, follow outward swing plane, left leg control, no overswing), and head down on impact. - Short game also was good, again focussing on control, head still on shot, ball back in stance - Even the putter worked, sinking a couple of long putts, and few 3putts, focussing on more upward stance, putting through the ball, head still and down. The handicap did take a pummelling starting the weekend at 16.5 dropping to 15.3, then to 15.0 by the end of the second round.

So, time will tell whether those two rounds can be repeated or were they a short lived highlight.  Will continue with the drinking and chocolate theory for now!
