A game of two halves
February 28th, 2009 by Doogs
Stableford comp this morning at the Growling Frog Golf Course. Played with mate Steve, down from Sydney, Ben and Tim. Playing the back nine first, did not get going, possibly the 7:32am tee time, possibly the cool weather, possibly the wind, probably just poor setup and concentration. Struggled up to the Par 5 15th where a solid drive set up par, a great recovery helped a par on the 16th, before it went crappy again finishing with just 14 points. Par on the 1st, swing felt better even the putter! Dodgy 2nd hole, then a par on the 3rd, before the game came back online with pars on 5,6,7,8 and a final stumble on 9 for 21 pts. Finishing with 35pts. Steve played well with 37pts.
What did i do differently for such a drastic change from front to back nines? Relaxed the swing, concentrated on swing plane, and got more feel and ryhthm to the putter.

Lovely mate. I must get out there someday!
