Mancation Cup at Rosebud Park

Drove down to the Mornington Peninsula with Scott, Glenn and Manny for a short Mancation (aka a Boys night!).  Having consumed a few beers and played poker the night before, we teed up at Rosebud Park (a hidden Gem of the Peninsula) for the inaugural “Mancation Cup”.  Playing a foursome/ambrose/best ball/matchplay format, Manny and I teamed up to take on Glenn and Scott over 18 holes.  Each player had to take 9 drives each, and we gave Scott and Glenn a generous handicap of one shot per hole.

After an even start, we started to regret the generous handicap as they quickly built a 2 hole lead.  A team birdie on the par 5 5th showed some signs of improvement but S&G hit back as we traded blows. They took a narrow one hole lead into the back nine,  until two more birdies drew us level again.  We halved the next four holes with both teams missing opportunities and making impressive saves.  The final hole, an uphill par 4, would be the decider.  Glenn hit his best drive of the day, as Mike also got a good drive away.  Second shots were short of the green, S&G chipped on, putting pressure on Manny and I to get close.  Mannys chip was thin and sailed over the green, my chip was thin too, also sailing over the green and ending our chances!  Glenn holed their putt to win, taking the inaugural Mancation Cup.
