9 holes @ Secret Harbour
June 12th, 2008 by Doogs
Whilst in Perth, Sam & I drove down to Secret Harbour for our ‘Boys day Out’. Secret Harbour is about 45mins South of Perth towards Mandurah. The course is set amongst a new housing development, so very spread out amongst residential housing. With limited time, we hired a cart and played nine holes. Sam was caddy, and also got to have a putt on each green. Hired a set of clubs and teed off. Happy with a regulation par on the first hole, a nice opening par 4, but then the accuracy went a little astray. The 4th is second hardest on the course (pictured above), and doglegs over a mass of bushes and crap to a narrow fairway dotted with bunkers. 3 wood is useful for accuracy. The 7th is a short par 5, loved the ‘church pew’ rough down the left side of the fairway approaching the green. Then the 8th is a great short hole, water right. And finished with the short par 4 9th, downhill to a well protected green, and a nasty pocket of impenetrable rough right of the green.
Played just over handicap, Sam enjoyed the cart ride and holed some nice putts!
