King challenge – dramatic finish
Originally uploaded by Doogsta

After 53 holes, the challenge came down to a final hole battle between Daren and Kel. The tough last hole at kooindah Waters is a long par 4 with water left, and surrounding half the green.
Steve had lost touch after the second round, Mike challenged midway through the front nine and got to within 2pts of lead but then collapsed! Kel had hit the lead early on the backnine as Daren struggled with the pressure of leading a challenge, but Daza hit back to seemingly clinch the title, only for Kel to draw back level after 53.
Both players hit the fairway with crucial drives, daren had some luck with his second pulling up short of the water. Kel took on the water and landed safely for his second. Then daz hit a superb approach close to the pin. Kel overshot the pin and all watched the ball roll towards the water, but luck turned kels way hitting the sleeperbank and stopping on the edge. Kels putt was hit truly and dropped, then daza had the chance for outright but the ball lipped and didn’t drop. The second tie in king history, congrats kel and daren
