Survival golf on the National old course

Played today on the brutal yet spectacular Old course at the National golf club on the Mornington Peninsula. Joined Rod and Paul, thanks for the invite Rod.
The old course is not for the feint hearted, huge undulations in fairways, massive bunkers, inpenetrable rough surrounding the fairways and large tiered greens. Plus, as the course is set on dunes above Bass Strait, its ALWAYS windy. So Ive set the scene.
The golf was survival, I had 3 points after four holes before I knew it and wasnt playing too poorly. Finished the front nine with 12 points, and improved on the back with 16, however the front nine is the toughest by far. Hit about 9 bunkers, and lost 3 balls (its usually not worth looking for a ball more than a couple of metres off the fairway!). Its a sensational course, much like Brookwater, and not the place for a high handicapper
