Played this morning with Rob at the Growling Frog.  Excellent conditions, with a nice Northerly wind behind the back for the first couple of holes.  It was a Callaway Competition from the black (back) tees so the course would play all of its 6,185 metres.  Both Rob and I got off to a cracking start with well struck drives over the hill. I hit the green 330metres away thanks to the tailwind and downhill run, then 3 putted for par!!!!  The game then clicked into gear, and apart from a couple of off drives, and some shonky short game work, I went out with 5 pars for a 42 (20 points).  Most happy.

Holding this form for the back nine was always going to be a challenge, especially from the back tees.  The chipping and putting started to fade away, costing shots but total disaster was averted on a couple of hole.  Finished with an 88 (37 points) which will knock a few points off my handicap.  But very pleased to beat my handicap from the backs.  The revised swing is still holding up, some work needed on the driver.  And need to revisit the short game as it tends to fold easily! Rob and I finished the game tied, the post game wrap up and beers well earned!
