A decent game at Queanbuyen
November 7th, 2007 by Doogs
Played at Queanbuyen Golf Club on Monday whilst in Canberra visiting friends for the Melbourne Cup weekend. Queanbuyen is located on the outskirts of ACT, the course is open to the public and would have to be one of the best value for money courses around, especially on “RDO Mondays” with green fees of $12 for 18 holes. Joining Steve and Bondy, we were playing for glory and bragging rights.

The layout is a relatively short Par 70, undulating fairways, relatively fast greens and some thought provoking holes. With only the second round since my swing redevelopment, I wasnt expecting too much. The driver started and stayed inconsistent, one of the negatives of the swing changes is the negative effect on the drives, something to work on next! However the irons were starting to work some magic, especially anything within 150metres.
The revised swing plane is feeling more comfortable, and produces a more consistent swing. Even the short game began to work, concentating on minimal upper body movement and accelerating through the ball. And to the amazement of Steve and Bondy, the usually awkward putter, showed some form – swing thoughts of keeping the body still through the putt, no lateral sway.
Finished with 39 points, including 6 pars, and bragging rights until next time!
