Angel wings it to US Open win as Badds goes bad
June 19th, 2007 by Doogs
The US Open trophy did stay out of the US for a second year, but rather than heading down under its off to Argentina. A gritty final round by Angel Cabrera giving the portly South American a one shot lead on the treacherous Oakmont course. Alas the opportunity for Baddeley to realise his dreams fell away immediately with a triple on the first hole, the usually trusty putter went pear shaped, and it was all down hill to a final round of 80. Still, leading a major into the final round is still possibly a coming of age, learning experience, yada yada, time will tell whether the final round has a positive or negative impact on badds.com.
Also of note, Tiger AGAIN failed to win a major coming from behind, all his Major wins have been as 3rd round leader. Sure, the guy can play, but to match it with Nicklaus, he needs to be able to put together the big back-nines on Sunday.
And, let not forget Aarons choice of pants for the final round, his Grandad must be proud to see his pants getting a walk around Oakmont!

Sorry about Badds.
