“Hidden Gem” is a title handed out a little too liberally to define golf courses, Google returns over 1,200 searches for the keywords “hidden gem” and golf! So I dont use the Hidden Gem word often, however Rosebud Park Golf Course certainly does qualify for this title. Located in Rosebud on the Mornington Peninsula, about an hour and a half from Melbourne, Rosebud Park is tucked away on a ridge above Rosebud overlooking Port Phillip Bay and offering some spectacular views.

Not overly long the layout is a Par 70 with undulating fairways and greens, many tee shots need to be planned ahead as a straight shot in the middle of a fairway can be punished by the sloping fairways! Greens and fairways were in superb condition, with very sandbelt like bunkers throughout. At $25 for 18 holes its a bargain!
Tip: All the greens break towards the water!
Rosebud Park Golf Course - 2nd Hole
2nd Hole – Tough Start
After a cruisy start with a downhill par 5, the 2nd is a par 4 rated 2nd hardest on the course. A tee shot needs to allow for the angled fairway, approach to an undulating green gaurded by bunkers.

Rosebud Park Golf Course - 7th Hole
7th Hole – Placement
A tee shot is played to yet another angled fairway, stay left to avoid kicking right. Fairway then drops to a tough eleated green with bunker short and trees right.
Rosebud Park Golf Course - 12th Hole

12th Hole – Keep Right
A fantastic short par 4, played to a narrow fairway with a severe slope on the left down to deep rough. The approach is uphill to a green protected by three bunkers, the closest bunker is deceptively short of the putting surface.

Rosebud Park Golf Course - 15th Hole

15th Hole – Attack the green
The 15th is a medium length par 3, played to an elevated green. Shot must carry to avoid rolling back into the valley, bunkers gaurd left and right. A ridge stops shots going too long.
