L’Alpes du Lower Plenty
January 24th, 2007 by Doogs
Back on the bike again trying to get some k’s on the saddle to give me a chance at completing the Great Ocean and Otway Ride , a 160 km ride through the Otway ranges and along the Great Ocean Road. As you can see from the course profile , there is a LOT of climbing for the first 80kms.

Luckily my training route from Home to work, and occasionally back again, has a few hills of its own as it climbs through the Alpes du Lower Plenty, including the Col du Plenty, and the Mont Morency. (The elevation profile is courtesy of a fantastic Google Maps mashup called Routeslip that allows you to plot your own cycling routes)

The training course profile looks suitably hilly, but its worth to note that my highest climb point is 330 feet, or about 100 metres, the Otway climb tops out at over 400 metres. Sacre Bleu, un velo c’est expiree.
