A hint of form at the Frog

Played my first round of golf for 2007 at the Growling Frog Golf Course on Saturday.  Nice early tee time of 7am playing in the members comp with Steve and Mick.  Couldnt get the driver off the ground early but the short game was working reasonably well, shock horror!  Normal levels of consistency! – par on 4th, triple bogey on 6th, par on 7th (after a nice bunker approach), double bogey on 8th!!!  Another 4 pars on the back nine, including a chip in on 13th.

Hit one of the longest drives Ive ever hit on the long par 5 15th, with a tail wind it was well over 300m.  The proceeded to duff my approach and scramble a par!!! Almost as alarming, I sunk a few putts, taking just 13 putts on the back nine

Ah the GGF… damn fine course. Bloody dry as at the moment. Played 18 there a few weeks back. One of the boys sprayed a ball into a lake… only to be able to walk in and retrieve it as there wasn’t any water in the dam!

I enjoyed the GPS carts, and the 9th tee suits my mild slice (yeah.. mild!) nicely!
