Movember 2006

Yes, its on again. Ive joined fellow Mo-bro’s again to grow the Mo for Movember. Its all about promoting awareness and raising money for Prostate Cancer research and Male depression. From tommorow, the upper lip will be left unshaved for the entire month. Last years effort was pretty lame so not expecting much!

Show off!

The GWS is getting worse! I need a fix. Found this on youtube. No computer animation or hidden wires, he is really that good!

I think Im suffering from symptoms of golf withdrawl syndrome (GWS). Last time I was on a golf course was the 27th August with Scott in Launceston. Little is known about GWS but it a potentially chronic and crippling disease. There is only one cure….I need to get back on the course!

My on-par blog is one year old today!!!! In the first year, there have been 72 posts and about 4 comments hahaha!

Allez Allez – Mike sur un vélo

Yes, photographic evidence taken at about 1:45pm on the Round the Bay ride. For a long time, golf has allowed the truly dedicated, crazed and cashed up (myself included) to outfit themselves with ridiculously overpriced and overspecced equipment that will not improve the game but looks good and makes others go “Oooooooh”. It started with the evolution of Metal Woods, the first true golf bling and must have [...]

Byron Nelson 1912-2006

Sadly one of golfs legends passed away today. Byron Nelson won five majors and more remarkably won 18 events in 1945 on the PGA tour, including 11 in a row.

Sam on the range

Sam and I headed to the driving range last weekend. Loaded a video from my phone onto youtube.com (how very Web 2.0 of me!) and here is Sam in action. OK, so the orientation is askew but lean to the right and you’ll be fine. I will fix this soon!

Europe wins Ryder Cup

I should qualify my previous entry to read “Is Matchplay a dying art in the USA”. Europe recently trounced the US in the Ryder Cup 18.5pts to 9.5pts. Of the 12 matchplay singles games on the final day, Europe won 8 and halved another. This makes it three Ryder Cups in a row for the [...]
