Drive for show, putt for d’oh!!

Its slightly sad and disturbing, but Ive kept some basic stats from most of my rounds of golf since 2000. A strange trend has been occuring this year. I’ve almost doubled the number of greens hit in regulation this year, averaging about 6 per round. However my putting has suffered with more putts per round, and a disturbing increase in 3 putts. As such my average scoring stays about the same.
So Im more likely to get the ball onto the green in less shots, BUT leave the ball miles from the pin and put more pressure on the putter. Putting should be easy, knocking a 42.67mm diameter ball into a 108 mm diameter hole with a flat faced club. Yet its brought grown men to tears, caused mental anguish to professional players and decides the majority of tournaments.
I think i need a new putter………
