A day at the beach!

Played yesterday with Andrew M on the Open Course at Moonah Links (See my review). Teeing off early, the weather was sensational, no wind, clear skies and no other golfers in sight!!! We played from the Blue tees, measuring 6301 metres (480 metres shorter than the black!).

Wasn’t hitting the ball cleanly off the tee, the driver is not the favoured club at the moment, but was at least getting the ball out there. After my last round, i was still wary of the putter but managed to drop a couple of decent putts early. Reality hit back later on the front nine with a couple of 3 putts including some average strokes.

But my ball became a bunker magnet, hitting bunkers on 4 consecutive holes on the front nine, twice on the 13th and again on the final hole, I visited 8 bunkers in total!!! Fairway and greenside bunkers are traditional links style, very penal, many deeper than a person with high lips requiring a lofted club to escape.

Finished with a 20 over par, 92 (46,46). Only one disaster hole, the 14th, after a thinned drive clipped deep grass off the tee and nestled into deeper grass!!! The rest of the golf was consistently average without being brilliant!
