Europe wins Ryder Cup
September 26th, 2006 by Doogs
I should qualify my previous entry to read “Is Matchplay a dying art in the USA”. Europe recently trounced the US in the Ryder Cup 18.5pts to 9.5pts. Of the 12 matchplay singles games on the final day, Europe won 8 and halved another. This makes it three Ryder Cups in a row for the Europeans.
And its not that the US doesnt care, there is a lot of history and passion in the Ryder. Its the lost art of Matchplay, especially in the US thats the difference.
Darren Clarke laps up the victory.
