Bikes and wet tram tracks don’t mix

When a thin bike tyre meets a wet strip of polished metal at speed the results are not good. Cruising home on new bike, post-rain, right hand turn across tram tracks in Smith Street. All going well until my rear wheel decided to continue up Smith Street at pace. Luckily for new bike my arm and hip took the brunt of the force. Scraped myself off the tarmac, and proceeded on my way, ignored by all passers by! Nice bruises in the making!
