The 2006 Open at Royal OB

Another British Open is upon us, this year returning to Royal Liverpool (Hoylake) for the first time in almost 40 years. Will be interesting to see how the pro’s play a course that is essentially foreign to many. The dry British summer (didnt know that was possible!) has baked the greens and sped up the fairways. Known as Royal OB for its abundance of out of bounds, the par 5 18th has all the makings for a dramatic finish with OOB along the entire right side of the fairway.

Cant see an American coping with the course or conditions, Australians always figure well. Ogilivy has had a break since the US Open but will be a chance, Scott needs to be a chance, look out for Lonard, O’hern and Pampling. And how about the belt buckle himself, Badds!!!
