Lefty wins the Masters

So we will have to wait another year for a chance to see an Australian in the green jacket. This year it was Phil Mickelson who took charge on the final day and could afford the luxury of a bogey on the 18th and still win by 2 shots over Tim Clarke. Phil, who looks to be carrying some extra Kilos, wins his second Masters. Imagine how good he could be if he stood on the proper side of the ball!

Best placed Australians were Geoff Ogilivy at 1 over, impressive for a first up start at Augusta, and The Pamps (Rod Pampling). The rest of the Australians were packed in at +3 and +4.
And spare a thought for Rocco Mediate, who was in contention until a disasterous 10 on the tricky par 3 12th in ‘Amen Corner’.
